Chinese businessmen are seeing trade potential in agriculture, technology, energy, fintech, infrastructure, including leather and leather products in Bangladesh.
A discussion and B2B (Business to Business) meeting was held between the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and a Chinese business delegation visiting Dhaka in the capital’s Motijheel on Sunday (June 01, 2025) afternoon. During this, Chinese businessmen expressed interest in joint-venture business initiatives with Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, including investment in promising sectors.

The meeting was presided over by FBCCI Administrator Md. Hafizur Rahman. In his welcome address, he said that Bangladesh is being considered an attractive business hub for industrial diversification and export expansion. Both countries need to work together to harness new potential and accelerate growth. In this regard, he placed special emphasis on the development of the start-up ecosystem, including public-private partnerships (PPPs), free trade agreements (FTAs), research.
At the time, Jiang Qi, head of the Chinese business delegation and vice chairman of the China International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector (CICCPS), said that they have already met with businessmen and entrepreneurs from various sectors of Bangladesh during their visit to Dhaka. He expressed hope that the discussions with FBCCI and the B2B meeting will play a fruitful role in further expanding trade and investment between the two countries.
Present at the discussion were FBCCI’s supporting committee members Nasrin Fatema Awal, Md. Gias Uddin Chowdhury (Khokon), Prabir Kumar Saha, Belayet Hossain Bhuiyan, FBCCI’s former first vice-president Mohammad Ali, Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) president Shawkat Aziz Russell, Mir Telecom director Mehreen Nasir, FBCCI Secretary General Md. Alamgir, FBCCI’s International Affairs Wing head Md. Zafar Iqbal ndc, FBCCI general council members, business leaders and others.
