The European Union (EU) delegation in Bangladesh has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
In a condolence message on Tuesday (December 30, 2025), the European Union said that it extends its deepest condolences to the people of Bangladesh on the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia. The condolence message said, “We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Bangladesh on the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia.”
The EU also said that Begum Khaleda Zia is an important name in the political history of Bangladesh, whose leadership and contribution have played a special role in the country’s democratic process.
