The program “Empowering Women with Technology” organized by ICT Olympiad Bangladesh was held on Saturday (21 December 2024) at Biswa Sahitya Kendra. The main objective of this event was to highlight the importance and future plans of the empowerment of women through technology and the glory girls segment of ICT Olympiad Bangladesh. Leading women personalities were present and around 150 students from Dhaka and its surrounding districts participated.

Dr. Tanjiba Rahman (Chairman, Bangladesh Free Lancing Development Society), Syeda Naushad Jahan Promi (Chairman, Together Initiative Limited), Sabila Inoon (Director, D Casalia Limited), Syeda Nafiza Reza (Managing Director, DG.Ltd), Noreen Haque Ridi (Founder, Darkak), Arupa Dutta (Managing Partner, Arutas Interiors BD), Fahmida Hossain (Chairman, Elegant IT Ltd.), Sumaiya Haque (Managing Director, Designers to Interiors)
Besides, the founder of ICT Olympiad Bangladesh Mr. Mohammad Shahriar Khan, Chief Educator Mr. Waheed Newton, Senior Vice Chairman Md. Abdur Rahman Nipu, Trustee Board Member Golam Sarwar and Project Director M. Abdullah were present in the event.
Speakers highlighted the importance of creating equal opportunities for women and men in the technology and digital fields and said that ensuring greater presence of women in the technology sector is essential not only for the betterment of their lives, but also for the betterment of society as a whole.
Working for the advancement of women in the technology sector as Senior Vice Chairman and Head of Student Welfare, ICT Olympiad Bangladesh. He said, “Empowerment of women through technology will not only change their lives, but will also move the entire society forward.”
Mohammad Shahriar Khan said in his speech, “My aim is to open up new horizons through technology for women, so that they can lead the technology sector and achieve success in their lives. We want to harness the power of technology to empower women in society, so that they can turn their imaginations into reality.”
“Initiatives like Glory Girls are raising women’s awareness of technology and building their leadership skills, which will power our technology future,” said Chief Educator Waheed Newton.
Trustee member Golam Sarwar said, “The main objective of this event was to empower women to become strong leaders in the field of technology and create a better and equal opportunity for them.”
ICT Olympiad Bangladesh Glory Girl Ambassador Fatiha Ayat, child rights activist and climate campaigner said, “I believe this initiative will set a unique milestone for empowering women through technology and exploring future possibilities.”
