Dhaka University Tourism and Hospitality Management Department holds student reception

The reception ceremony for the 17th and 18th batch of BBA students of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Department of Dhaka University was held at Hotel Intercontinental in the capital on Monday (1 September 2025).

Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan spoke virtually as the chief guest at the event. The event, organized under the chairmanship of the department’s chairman, Professor Dr. M. Shariful Alam Khandaker, was attended by the university’s treasurer, Professor Dr. M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, as the guest of honor.

Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Professor Dr. Mahmud Osman Imam, Managing Director of Bangladesh Services Limited, Mohammad Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, and Director of Sales and Marketing Department of Intercontinental Dhaka, Rezwan Maruf, were present as special guests.

The speakers extended their warmest greetings to the new students and highlighted the important role of the department in developing skilled manpower in the tourism and hospitality management sector. They emphasized the importance of students gaining practical experience along with their studies.
