Counting of votes in Jagannath University Central Students’ Union-JCSU elections is underway

It has been decided to resume the counting of votes in the Jagannath University Central Students’ Union (JCSU) elections, which was suspended due to a mechanical glitch, after 3.5 hours.

The decision was taken after a meeting with the Election Commissioner, university administration, various panels and independent VP-GS candidates in the Vice-Chancellor’s conference room on Tuesday (January 6) night. Election Commissioner Professor Kaniz Fatema Kakli informed about the matter at 11:30 pm.

He said that according to the unanimous decision of everyone, first the ballots of a center where about 300 votes were cast will be counted manually. Then those ballots will be counted in machines of two different companies. The machine whose results are closest to the manual counting, all the remaining votes will be counted using that machine.
