Minister for Food, Fisheries and Livestock and Agriculture Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid has said that constructive criticism of journalists is very important for the development of the country and achieving the desired goals. He said that the government wants to build a Bangladesh that had the dream of the great war of independence and the recent 2024 movement in mind.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at an Iftar Mahfil organized in honor of journalists of print and electronic media working in Comilla at a party center in Tomshambridge area of Comilla on Wednesday (March 18, 2026).
The minister said that the government is working sincerely to fulfill the expectations of the people—in this regard, the cooperation of the journalist community is essential. He said that journalists will constructively criticize our work, highlight mistakes and errors—this is expected, which will help move the society and the state forward.
The minister said that the government is committed to performing its duties with honesty and integrity. Regarding personal responsibilities, he said that as long as the Prime Minister keeps him in this position, he will try his best to perform his duties with honesty, integrity and faith. For this, he seeks everyone’s prayers and cooperation.
The Iftar Mahfil was addressed by Comilla Zilla Parishad Administrator and Divisional BNP Co-Organizing Secretary Mostaq Mia, Comilla City Corporation Administrator and Metropolitan BNP General Secretary Yusuf Molla Tipu, Metropolitan BNP Organizing Secretary Rajiur Rahman Rajib, Adarsh Sadar Upazila BNP President Rezaul Qayyum and General Secretary Shafiul Alam Raihan, Metropolitan BNP leader Nizam Uddin Kaiser, and local BNP and organiza- tional leaders.
More than two hundred journalists from print and electronic media working in Comilla participated in the prayers and iftar mahfil.
