BSTI fines two organizations Tk 1.5 lakh for irregularities in weights and measurements in Sripur

Desk Report:

A mobile court has been conducted in Tepirbari and Gargaria Masterbari areas of Sripur upazila of Gazipur to ensure that consumers receive correct weights and quality products. During the operation, a case was filed against two organizations for violating weights and measurements standards and a total fine of Tk 1.5 lakh was collected.

The operation conducted on Monday was led by Sreepur Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Nahid Niaz Shishir.

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) Gazipur Inspector (Metrology) Md. Habibur Rahman and BSTI Regional Office, Gazipur Field Officer (CM) Engineer Arnab Chakraborty served as prosecutors in the operation.

At that time, Bench Assistant Md. Saiful Islam and members of the law enforcement agencies cooperated.

The concerned authorities said that such mobile court operations will continue regularly in the future to ensure correct weight in the market, maintain product quality and protect the interests of consumers.
