British High Commissioner meets Foreign Minister on Rohingya crisis and UNGA chairmanship

Diplomatic Desk:

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cook met Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman in Dhaka. During the meeting, she was briefed about Bangladesh’s priorities and action plan during the upcoming UN General Assembly (UNGA) chairmanship.

The meeting also discussed the Rohingya crisis. They exchanged views on the UK’s ongoing support and humanitarian assistance to the Rohingyas who have taken refuge in Bangladesh in view of the ninth anniversary of the crisis.

In addition, discussions were held on further strengthening cooperation on migration between Bangladesh and the UK. Emphasis was also placed on increasing cooperation in various areas of mutual interest between the two countries.
