Commander Lee Andrew Norton, Defense Advisor to the British High Commission in Dhaka, paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh Coast Guard Director General Rear Admiral Md. Ziaul Haque, OSP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, MPhil.
The courtesy call, held at the Bangladesh Coast Guard Headquarters on Thursday (16 August 2026), discussed various issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
During the meeting, importance was laid on further strengthening the existing professional cooperation, mutual trust and communication between Bangladesh and the UK. In addition, views were exchanged on the possibility of expanding new areas of cooperation between the two countries in the future.
Those concerned believe that such high-level communication will play an important role in further strengthening the ongoing professional relations between the Bangladesh Coast Guard and relevant institutions in the UK.
This courtesy visit is expected to play a positive role in further advancing the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and the UK and cooperation in various areas of mutual interest, including maritime security.
