Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has said that improving the quality of life of the people of the country and changing the fate of the people are the main goals of the government.
He said this as the chief guest at the fish fry release ceremony on the occasion of the National Fisheries Party-2026 in the old Brahmaputra River in Pakundia, Kishoreganj on Sunday (August 16, 2026).




The Prime Minister said, “The government wants to do only those works that will benefit the people. The government will not do anything against the interests of the country and the people. The government will work keeping in mind the peace, stability of the country and the welfare of the people.”
She said that fish fry will be released in all the canals of the country in phases. Through this, initiatives will be taken to increase the country’s fisheries resources and ensure easy availability of fish for the common people.
The Prime Minister also said at the ceremony that the government will take necessary steps to protect the country’s fisheries resources and increase production. Through the development of fisheries resources, opportunities will be created to meet the nutritional needs of the people as well as increase employment and economic activities.
Regarding the farmers, Tarique Rahman said, “The government will stand by the farmers to the best of its ability.” He also said that the government’s support for the development of the agriculture and fisheries sectors would continue.
Later, the Prime Minister distributed fish fry and exchanged greetings with the local people.
