The Bangladesh cricket team has created history by winning a Test match for the first time on Australian soil. The Tigers defeated the hosts Australia by 9 wickets in the first Test of the two-match series.
Bangladesh has won a great victory in a Test match on Australian soil after 23 years. This is Bangladesh’s second victory against Australia in the history of Test cricket. Earlier, the Tigers defeated Australia at home in Mirpur in 2017.
Australia was all out for 198 runs in the first innings of the match. In response, Bangladesh showed a great performance with the bat and collected 426 runs. Then, Bangladesh put pressure on Australia by showing dominance in bowling. In the end, the visitors secured a victory by 9 wickets.
With this victory, a new chapter in Bangladesh’s Test cricket on Australian soil began. Cricket fans believe that this historic victory will further boost the Tigers’ confidence.
The second and final Test of the series will be held in Mackay on August 22. After their historic first win, Bangladesh will enter the field with the aim of winning the series.
