BNP candidate for Dhaka-11 constituency Dr. MA Qayyum has pledged to build a modern and non-discriminatory state by developing a merit-based Gen-Z

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate for Dhaka-11 constituency Dr. MA Qayyum has pledged to build a modern, intellectual and non-discriminatory state by developing the young people of Zen-Z or generation ‘Z’ on the basis of merit.

He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the “Meet The Gen-Z” program held in Dhaka today, Monday (December 22, 2025).

Dr. MA Qayyum said, “The history of our democratic movement has been built through this slogan. After the murder of Dr. Milon, the unprecedented movement of students and the public forced the dictator Ershad to resign and an election was held under the leadership of Justice Shahabuddin Ahmed. That day, we achieved the right to vote.”

He further said, “In the recent past, nearly 1400 people have given their lives for a demand—we want a society without discrimination. A society where there will be no discrimination based on religion, caste, rich-poor, educated-uneducated, or between men and women. Where there will be rule of law, the right to vote will be ensured, and merit will be truly valued.”

Highlighting the future state vision, Dr. Qayyum said that the 31-point program announced by BNP has a clear outline for the formation of a welfare state. He recalled the education-friendly initiatives of the past BNP government and said that free education up to intermediate for girls, education in exchange for food, and technical education for madrasa students have played an important role for the poor and marginalized population.

Outlining his future plans for Dhaka-11 constituency, he said, “I want to make this constituency a drug, terrorism and extortion-free area. We have already started various programs for this purpose. Societies are being built in every area, CCTVs are being installed, gates and doormen are being arranged – so that area-based security can be ensured.” He expressed optimism that it will be possible to build a developed, democratic and discrimination-free Bangladesh in the coming days through the leadership, talent and conscious participation of Gen-Z youth.
