BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem Visits Tokyo to Boost Bangladesh–Japan Trade Relations

BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem arrived in Tokyo on Tuesday (December 2, 2025) afternoon for a three-day official visit aimed at strengthening trade relations between Bangladesh and Japan. Upon arrival, he attended a pre-scheduled dinner hosted by Mr. Kiminobu Hiraishi, Chairman of Maruhisha Pacific Co., which was also attended by Mr. Kazuiki Kataoka, Country Head of JETRO Bangladesh; Mr. Ando Yuji, Former Country Head of JETRO Bangladesh; Mr. Hideo Kamiyama, Vice President of The Japan-Bangladesh Society; and other distinguished guests.

During his visit, President Hatem is scheduled to meet with the Ministry of Economy, Trade & Industry (METI), Department of Trade Policy, to discuss the proposed Japan–Bangladesh Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA). In the afternoon, he will participate in the 38th Corporate Information Exchange Meeting organized by the Japan Bangladesh Society, where the EPA will remain a key topic of discussion.

The day will conclude with a Networking and Business Exchange Reception, providing a platform to further enhance bilateral cooperation and explore new trade opportunities. Through this visit, BKMEA continues its commitment to promoting Bangladesh’s knitwear sector on the global stage and strengthening international partnerships.
