A bilateral meeting took place between Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.
The meeting was held on Wednesday (September 23, 2026) on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at the UN headquarters in New York, USA.
During the meeting, the two Prime Ministers discussed ways to further strengthen the friendly bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Croatia. They also deliberated on the prospects of expanding trade and investment and enhancing cooperation across various areas of mutual interest.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of further expanding mutual cooperation in promising sectors such as economic collaboration, trade and investment, skilled manpower, education, and technology.
Additionally, emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation between Bangladesh and Croatia in multilateral forums—including the United Nations—and enhancing coordination on international issues of shared interest.
During the meeting, both sides expressed a mutual desire to transform the existing friendly ties between the two nations into a broader and more effective partnership.
