Bangladesh is sending emergency humanitarian aid to earthquake-hit Afghanistan

The Bangladesh government is sending emergency humanitarian aid to the people affected by the devastating earthquake in eastern Afghanistan. The earthquake on September 1 has so far killed more than 1,400 people and injured about 3,000. More than 8,000 houses have been completely destroyed, leading to a shortage of food, water, shelter and emergency medical care.

On the instructions of the Honorable Chief Advisor, the Bangladesh government is sending relief supplies under special arrangements tomorrow (September 5). This relief includes dry food, baby food, blankets, winter clothes, tents, drinking water and medicines.

These relief supplies will be delivered to Afghanistan by a special flight of the Bangladesh Air Force. The Office of the Chief Advisor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Ministry of Health, Armed Forces Division, BGMEA, Essential Drugs Company Limited and PRAN-RFL are working jointly to implement the relief activities.

It is worth noting that Bangladesh sent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan even after the 2022 earthquake.
