Australian High Commission Hosts Bangladesh Chief Adviser’s Media Delegation for Dialogue on Press Freedom Ahead of Elections

As Bangladesh prepares for its upcoming democratic elections, the importance of a free and independent press has become ever more vital. Recognizing this, the Government of Australia recently hosted a high-level conversation with senior members of the Chief Adviser’s media team and the Media Freedom Coalition diplomatic community.

The distinguished delegation included Mr. Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Adviser; Mr. Apurba Jahangir, Deputy Press Secretary; and Mr. Nayem Ali, Assistant Press Secretary. The engagement served as a platform to exchange views on the evolving media landscape in Bangladesh, the role of journalism in supporting democratic processes, and the ongoing commitment to safeguarding freedom of expression.
