Ansar VDP Development Bank in Bangladesh holds meeting with Bangladesh Bank Governor on ‘Sanjeevan Project’

On Thursday (August 28, 2025), Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur and Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Brigades Director General and Ansar VDP Development Bank Chairman Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud presented the potential of the “Sanjeevan Project” and its role in improving the livelihoods of 6 million members.

The Chief of Staff informed the Governor in detail about the goals and objectives of the project. He said that through the Sanjeevan Project, the investment activities of Ansar VDP Development Bank will be strengthened and the socio-economic development of Ansar and VDP members at the grassroots level of the country, the creation of new entrepreneurs and local employment will be possible to improve the quality of life of the members.

The Bangladesh Bank Governor expressed satisfaction with the goals and objectives of the project and assured support from the bank, including the necessary micro-loan funds. He further said that Bangladesh Bank will help in quickly recruiting new manpower to ensure the capacity building of Ansar VDP Unnayan Bank through the launch of the digital core banking system.

The main goal of the Sanjeevan Project is to ensure overall improvement in the quality of life by selecting skilled, hardworking and entrepreneurial Ansar VDP members and creating small enterprises and sustainable employment for the underprivileged population.

Initially, the pilot project will be started in four upazilas of the country and auditing of the establishment of financial structure and governance will come into operation next month. Bangladesh Bank Managing Director Mir Mofazzal Hossain and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
