Nepalese Medical Student’s Association in Bangladesh Inaugurates New Leadership

The Nepali Medical Students’ Association, Bangladesh (NMSA-BD) celebrated a historic leadership change. In an emotional and memorable ceremony, the founding president Dr. Navin Yadav formally resigned and handed over the leadership responsibilities to a new generation. He has been leading the organization with vision and dedication since the beginning, uniting Nepali students studying in Bangladesh in education, culture and social activities. In his farewell address, he said, “Leadership is not just a position — it is a trust. Today, I am handing over that trust to the changemakers of tomorrow. The journey of empowerment led by women is now a living legacy.”

The new executive committee includes Shadiksha Bhatt as president, Simran Bhatrai as general secretary, Anushka Adhikari as joint secretary and Nihit Bhatrai as treasurer. The new team will be guided by a Board of Directors (BOD) — Dr. Stuti Karki, Dr. Prajwal Singh Rajput, Dr. Sarina Palikhe, Dr. Sagar Pandey, Dr. Samiksha Adhikari, Anjal Sharma and Dr. Niranjan Gupta.

The event was graced by the chief guest, Mrs. Yogna Bamjan, Second Secretary, Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka. She praised Dr. Yadav’s leadership and said, “His dedication and commitment have brought the Nepali student community together. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the new leadership and wish them a successful tenure.”

The first Nepali Food Festival 2025 was organized on this occasion, showcasing Nepali flavors and culture in Bangladesh. The team led by Dr. Sarina Palikh of Anwar Khan Medical College won the Best Sales Stall award.

This was not just a transfer of leadership — but a transfer of hopes, dreams and determination. Building on the solid foundation built by Dr. Yadav, the new leaders are now ready to write a new chapter of unity, identity and excellence.
