Summit has announced the appointment of Md Sayedul Alam as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Summit LNG Terminal Co. (Pvt.) Ltd. (SLNG). With this appointment, the company aims to further strengthen its operational leadership and drive future growth.
SLNG is Bangladesh’s second Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU), with a capacity to regasify 500 million standard cubic feet per day (mmcfd) and store up to 138,000 cubic metres of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).
The terminal is a joint venture between Summit and Mitsubishi Corporation, with lead financing from Japan’s Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC). It is an integral part of Summit’s broader energy infrastructure portfolio, which is supported by global partners including JERA.
SLNG operates under a long-term Vessel Support Services Agreement with PSA Marine, Singapore.
Summit expressed confidence that under the leadership of Md Sayedul Alam, SLNG will reach new milestones. His strategic vision and industry experience are expected to play a key role in enhancing the efficiency and capacity of the company’s LNG operations.
