On Sunday, June 29, 2025, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Mexico City hosted a remarkable cultural gathering that brought together multiple celebrations in one event: Bengali New Year 1432, the 164th birth anniversary of the world poet Rabindranath Tagore, the 126th birth anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, and a post-Eid-ul-Adha reunion. The event was graced by members of the Bangladeshi community in Mexico and distinguished guests.

The celebration began with a warm welcome from H.E. Mr. Mushfiqur Fazal Ansarey, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Mexico. During the cultural segment, Ambassador Ansarey captivated the audience with his powerful recitation of Rabindranath Tagore’s iconic poem “1400” and an excerpt from Kazi Nazrul Islam’s historic prose “Rajbandir Jabanbandi” (The Deposition of a Political Prisoner). His poetic presentation added a profound and inspiring dimension to the event.

A highlight of the evening was the soulful performance of Bangla songs by two young artists, whose melodious voices deeply touched the hearts of the attendees.
Ambassador Ansarey also shared a brief overview of the upcoming events to be organized by the Embassy in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh-Mexico diplomatic relations. He extended an open invitation to all present to actively participate in these future programs.

The cultural festivity concluded with the serving of traditional Bangladeshi cuisine and sweets, offering guests a taste of home. The Embassy premises were adorned in the vibrant style of rural Bangladesh, recreating the warmth and essence of Bangladeshi heritage.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador Ansarey stated, “Even while living abroad, we continue to uphold our cultural legacy. Through events like this, we aim to instill the spirit and values of Bengal in the younger generations growing up in Latin America.”
