The July Charter and reforms will be based on the consensus of BNP and other political parties, said BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.
He said these things in response to journalists’ questions after the meeting between the interim government’s chief advisor, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, and BNP acting chairperson Tarique Rahman held at the Dorchester Hotel in London on Friday (June 13).
Regarding the reforms, he said, “We will do both the reforms and the July Charter based on consensus.” “A decision will be taken based on consensus.”
A joint statement was issued at around 4 pm Bangladesh time after the meeting between the Chief Advisor and Tarique Rahman.
Present at the meeting were National Security Advisor Md. Khalilur Rahman, the Chief Advisor’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam, and BNP Standing Committee members Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Humayun Kabir.
