Islami Bank launches Hajj prepaid card

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLClaunched Hajj prepaid card for Hajj pilgrims to avoid the risks and hassles of carrying cash.

Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus inaugurated the card at the State Guest House Jamuna on Monday, April 28, 2025.

Dr. A F M Khalid Hossain, adviser for Religious Affairs, Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, adviser for Cultural Affairs, Fayez Ahmed Tayeb, special assistant to the chief adviser, Md. Omar Faruk Khan, managing director (current charge) of the bank and Md. Mosharraf Hossain, executive vice president were present in the program.

Islami Bank’s Hajj Prepaid Card can be carried as a supplement tocash.There is no need to open a separate bank account to receive it and free endorsement can be done within the shortest time.

There is no fees for issuing and closing the card and there is an instant balance load and unusedbalance refund facility.With this card, purchases can be made through MasterCard-enabled POS machines, cash withdrawals from any MasterCard-enabled ATM booths in Saudi Arabia and all bills including Hajj accommodation can be paid.

This card can be taken from any branch and sub-branch including Ashkona Hajj Booth of the bank. A maximum of $1,200 or Saudi Riyal equivalent to approximately BDT. 150,000can be loaded on this card for Hajj. To receive this card, a copy of the Hajj visa, a copy of NID and passport, 2 copies of passport-sized photographs and a domestic active mobile number will be required.
