The investigation commission formed into the BDR killings has expressed its expectation that the investigation report will be finalized by June, stating that the investigation process into the BDR killings is in full swing.
On Wednesday (April 16, 2025) at 5 pm, the members of the investigation commission met the chief advisor at the State Guest House Jamuna and informed him about the progress of the investigation.

Commission Chief Major General (Retd.) Alam Fazlur Rahman said, “We are contacting various parties. Since the incident was 16 years ago, there is some delay in contacting many of them. Many of the accused are staying outside the country. We are coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to inquire about their status.”
“We have interviewed some of the people in prison. 23 people who need to be contacted for the investigation are staying abroad. Of them, 8 have contacted for an interview,” he said.
The commission chief further said, ‘We are investigating the pattern of killings and torture. After the DG was killed, the rest were killed. This was a planned murder. Such a murder cannot happen without a plan.’
‘This is like a repeat of Plassey. We have to find out its roots,’ he said.
Commission member Major General (retd) Jahangir Kabir Talukder said, ‘Not a single officer/employee has been removed in the incident of such a heinous murder. No one has been held responsible. This is the failure of the intelligence agency, the military and the political forces.’
The chief advisor said that the government would provide maximum cooperation to the investigation commission, saying, ‘They brutally killed their own officers. This murder was carried out smoothly.’
The chief advisor said, ‘We are all looking for answers. The commission must succeed in investigating this incident. This mystery must be unraveled.’
Also present at the meeting were members of the investigation commission formed into the BDR killings, Brigadier General Md. Saidur Rahman, Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, Dr. M Akbar Ali, Md. Shariful Islam, Shahnewaz Khan Chandan, and ATKM Iqbal.
