EU, Red Crescent, and International Organizations Stand by the Victims of the Mass Uprising

The European Union (EU) has extended its generous support to assist approximately 8,000 individuals affected by the mass uprising in Bangladesh during July-August 2024.

A new project titled “Pathways to Healing: A Survivor-Centred Approach to Address Violence and Human Rights Violations” was officially launched on Wednesday (19 March, 2025) at the EU Delegation in Bangladesh. Representatives from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) attended the event.

With the support of the EU, the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), the Norwegian Red Cross (Røde Kors), and the Swedish Red Cross (Röda Korset) will collaborate closely with the Government of Bangladesh and other stakeholders. This initiative aims to enhance the well-being, economic resilience, and social cohesion of survivors across Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rangpur, and Rajshahi divisions.

The Bangladesh Red Crescent Society expressed its sincere gratitude to the European Union and all partners for their vital support. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to standing with those in need and continuing to provide life-saving assistance and recovery support.
