Chief Advisor releases commemorative postage stamp to commemorate women’s participation in mass uprising

Online Desk:

Bangladesh Postal Department has released a commemorative postage stamp of ten taka, an inaugural envelope of ten taka, a data card of five taka and a special seal to commemorate the ‘July Uprising-2024’.

Chief Advisor Professor Muhammad Yunus released the postage stamp at the State Guest House Jamuna on Sunday (February 9, 2025) evening. At that time, Posts and Telecommunications Advisor Md. Nahid Islam, Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications Department Dr. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman and Director General (Additional Duty) of the Directorate of Posts S. M. Shahabuddin were present.

The theme of the postage stamp is the spontaneous participation of women in the July Mass Uprising. The postage stamp highlights the role that women played in accelerating the July mass uprising.

In addition to the strong role that the spontaneous participation of students and the public in the July uprising played in freeing fascism, the paintings, cartoons, graffiti and protest songs during the movement gave courage and enthusiasm to the protesters.

In just three weeks, hundreds of political cartoons and paintings were created, which became a unique means of protest against fascism.
