On Monday (23 December, 2024) Mr. Yao Wen, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh called on Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar, Honorable Adviser of and Mass Education to the Interim Government of Bangladesh. The two sides engaged in a comprehensive discussion on enhancing bilateral cooperation in primary education and youth skills development.
Mr. Yao Wen highlighted China’s commitment to fostering a friendly and cooperative relationship with the people of Bangladesh, supporting the Interim Government’s reform efforts, and improving the livelihoods of its citizens. He addressed that 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Bangladesh, as well as the Year of People-to-People Exchanges, presenting significant opportunities for further collaboration in the fields of primary and mass education. China is keen to work with Bangladesh to strengthen cooperation in areas such as Chinese language education, youth development, and teacher training, to broaden the exchange of experiences and enhance the educational and training opportunities for rural communities and youth in Bangladesh.
Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar expressed high regard for the longstanding friendship between China and Bangladesh and conveyed sincere gratitude for China’s continuous support in advancing Bangladesh’s primary and mass education. He emphasized that the youth are key to the nation’s future development and expressed hope that China would continue to support Bangladesh in expanding rural primary education and youth employment skills training, thus further improving the country’s educational system and benefiting more people.
