Ifad Group Vice-Chairman Taskin Ahmed has been elected as the President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) for the year 2025. In addition, Rajib H Chowdhury and Md. Salim Solaiman have been elected as Senior Vice-President and Vice-President for the same term.
The new Board of Directors officially took office at the 63rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Dhaka Chamber held at the DCCI Auditorium in Motijheel, the capital, on Sunday (December 15, 2024). This information was given in a press release. The other newly elected directors of DCCI are Enamul Haque Patowary, Md. Mostafa Kamal, Minhaj Ahmed, Mohammad Jamsher Ali, Rashed Maimunul Islam and Salman bin Rashid Shah Sayem.
Taskin Ahmed, the newly elected president of Dhaka Chamber, is currently the vice chairman of Ifad Group, one of the largest business conglomerates in Bangladesh, involved in automobile, food processing and consumer goods sectors in the country.
Taskin Ahmed joined his family business in 1999 and in his 25-year career, he led several business units of the group. Taskin Ahmed has also made significant contributions to the development of the country’s business community.
He has also served as the president of the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) and the senior vice president of the Bangladesh Automobile Assemblers and Manufacturers Association (BAAMA) and the director of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. While involved in various trade organizations, he has worked tirelessly to promote the interests of Bangladeshi businesses at the international level, besides developing strong economic partnerships in the regional business context.
