CID Chief Additional IGP Barrister Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain and a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh discussed various issues of mutual interest, including further strengthening police-to-police cooperation between Bangladesh and China.
On Sunday (August 23, 2026), a courtesy call was held by Chinese Embassy Second Secretary Mr. Zhao Yi, Third Secretary Mr. Zhou Jun and Consular Officer Ms. Fatema Shimu with the CID chief at the CID headquarters, Dhaka.




During the meeting, importance was laid on further strengthening police-to-police cooperation between Bangladesh and China. In addition, fruitful discussions were held on prevention of human trafficking, mutual cooperation in investigation of existing cases, and investigation and information exchange of Bangladesh Bank-related cases.
They also discussed the exchange of knowledge, experience and technology between the two countries to combat cyber-enabled crimes and the necessary technical and logistical support.
During the courtesy call, both sides expressed their determination to play an effective role in combating transnational and cyber crimes by further expanding mutual cooperation.
Senior officials from various units of the CID were present at the time.
