The MoU was signed at a ceremony held at Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan in Dhaka on Sunday (August 23, 2026).

Under the MoU, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan will cooperate in providing accommodation and hospitality services to foreign guests participating in the upcoming Asian Tourism Fair. In addition, the parties concerned expect that this partnership will play an important role in the international promotion of Bangladesh’s tourism industry and increasing business contacts among tourism-related stakeholders.

Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan (IHG) General Manager Kartik V. K. and Director of Sales Md. Salah Uddin were present at the event. Mohiuddin Helal, Editor of Parjatan Bichitra and Chairman of Asian Tourism Fair, Borhan Uddin, Director (Marketing and Development) Salahuddin Aton, Vice-Chairman of Tourism and Hospitality Industry Skills Council and Chairman of Arunima Resort and Golf Club, Khabir Uddin Ahmed and other stakeholders were present on behalf of the Asian Tourism Fair.

Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan General Manager Kartik V. K. said that such a comprehensive tourism fair not only creates an opportunity to increase business and professional communication among tourism-related organizations, but also serves as an important platform to showcase a country’s tourism potential, development plans and future investment at the international level. He welcomed the initiative of the Asian Tourism Fair and wished the fair its overall success and assured necessary cooperation as a hospitality partner.

With the approval and overall cooperation of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, the three-day 13th Asian Tourism Fair will be held on September 17, 18 and 19, 2026 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka in the capital. The fair will be open to visitors from 10 am to 7 pm every day.

This year’s fair will feature more than 300 stalls of domestic and foreign tourism organizations, hotels, resorts, tour operators, travel agencies, national tourism organizations, investors and other tourism-related organizations. Apart from Bangladesh, tourism organizations and related organizations from various countries including Nepal, Bhutan, Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan will participate.

The fair will feature B2B networking, seminars, group discussions, cultural programs, tourism discussions and attractive raffle draws over the three days. The fair will be developed as an integrated platform for business communication, travel planning, entertainment and knowledge exchange for domestic and foreign tourism organizations, investors, entrepreneurs, professionals, students and general visitors.

Chairman of the Asian Tourism Fair and Editor of Parjatan Bichitra, Mohiuddin Helal, said, “Initiatives have been taken to turn this year’s 13th Asian Tourism Fair into a large gathering and tourism festival for the tourism industry of Bangladesh. Tourism organizations from home and abroad will participate in this fair with various attractive holiday packages, discounts and special offers for travel planning for the upcoming winter season. Through this, we hope that the interest and travel flow of tourists to various tourist destinations in the country will further increase.”

He further said, “The role of the media in the development of the tourism industry is very important. The cooperation of the media is needed to highlight the country’s tourism potential at the international level. We hope that all media organizations in the country will cooperate in making the Asian Tourism Fair a successful tourism festival.”

The organizers said that the Asian Tourism Fair has been working for a long time to bring together various stakeholders of the country’s tourism industry – hotels, resorts, tour operators, travel agents, airlines, national tourism organizations, investors, skill development institutions and tourism entrepreneurs – on a common platform.

The organizers expressed their hope that this time’s event will make Bangladesh’s tourism industry stronger, more competitive and more international market-oriented, as well as add a new dimension to the promotion of the country’s tourism destinations and expand investment opportunities.
