Russian House Dhaka has organized a special meeting for Bangladeshi students who have won Russian Government Scholarships. At the meeting, the successful scholarship students received their passports along with Russian visas, which is an important step in starting their educational career in Russia.
The event brought together scholarship winners preparing to go to Russia, alumni of Russian universities, individuals who have gained academic and professional experience in Russia, and current scholarship students (via online). The main objective of the event was to share their experiences and practical advice with students who are about to start their new journey.
At the beginning of the event, Alexandra A. Khlevnaya, Director of Russian House Dhaka, delivered a welcome speech. Then, invited guests and alumni of various Russian universities spoke. Among them were Professor Dr. Md. Nasim Akhtar, Executive Committee Member of the Soviet Alumni Association, Bangladesh (SAAB); Architect Tania Atiq, General Secretary of the 14th Executive Committee of SAAB; Dr. Barek Kaiser, Assistant Professor of the University of Development Alternatives and a graduate of RUDN University; Dr. Mahmudul Hasan, Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon of the N. N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, Moscow and a graduate of the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University; and Eradatuddiniat, a 2026 graduate of RUDN University and Russian Nuclear Education Ambassador.
The invited speakers shared their own experiences of studying, living and professional development in Russia. In this, the scholarship recipients got a proper idea about university life, adapting to a new environment, academic opportunities and the experience of building an international career.
A particularly important part of the program was the participation of Bangladeshi students currently studying at various universities in Russia. They joined online from Russia and shared valuable advice on preparing for departure, student lifestyle, communication with university authorities, accommodation, studying, and making the most of the opportunities available to international students.
Through this direct exchange of views, the new scholarship recipients had the opportunity to receive advice from students who have already traveled the same path and gained a clearer idea of what kind of experience awaits them upon arrival in Russia.
For scholarship recipients, receiving their passports with visas is not just the completion of an administrative process—it is the beginning of a new academic and personal chapter in Russia.
