Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given necessary instructions to the concerned administration and party leaders and activists to stand by the people affected by heavy rains and floods across the country.
The Prime Minister spent almost the entire day on Friday (July 10, 2026) taking stock of the overall situation in various flood-affected and affected districts. During this time, he spoke to the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Superintendent of Police (SP) and Civil Surgeons of the concerned districts and gave necessary directions to deal with the flood situation.

The Prime Minister also spoke to the ministers, secretaries and officials of various ministries concerned, including the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. He emphasized on conducting rescue, relief distribution, medical services and rehabilitation activities in a more coordinated and effective manner.
The Prime Minister directed to take special care of women and children, especially pregnant women, in the flood-affected areas. He also directed the law enforcement agencies to be on the highest alert so that no unscrupulous gangs could take advantage of the disaster situation to engage in theft, robbery or any other criminal activities.
He stressed the need to quickly ensure adequate food, clean water, medical care and other emergency assistance for the affected people.
