Minister for Posts, Telecommunication and Information Technology and Science and Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of several important development works in the public health and education sectors in Madhupur Upazila of Tangail today, Saturday (July 4, 2026).
The minister laid the foundation stone of a water tank construction project with a capacity of 1 (one) lakh liters of water in the premises of Kakraid High School in Madhupur Upazila, implemented by the Department of Public Health Engineering. If this project is implemented, arsenic-free and uninterrupted supply of potable water will be ensured for the local people.
Earlier, the minister visited the grave of late Sohel Talukder, former Jubo Dal leader of Madhupur, and spoke to his family members.
Later, the minister inaugurated the newly constructed 4-storey building of Jatabari Fazil (Degree) Madrasa in Madhupur Upazila. After that, he inaugurated the newly constructed 4-storey buildings of Gangair Nazmul Islam Fazil Madrasa, Madhupur Adarsh Islamia Kamil Madrasa and Shalikha Fazil Madrasa in turn.
The minister said that the current government is working relentlessly to improve the quality of education, build modern educational infrastructure and ensure basic services to the citizens. To ensure discipline and quality in the education sector, the government is conducting cheating-free and transparent examinations so that truly talented people get the evaluation they deserve. He said that in addition to creating an improved educational environment, ensuring safe drinking water is also one of the government’s priorities.
The minister further said that the government is sincere in the overall development of Madhupur and various projects are being implemented continuously to develop the education, health, communication and public service infrastructure of the area. These development works will make a significant contribution to improving the quality of life of the local people.
Local public representatives, senior officials of various government departments, teachers and students of educational institutions, dignitaries, and dignitaries were present at the events.
