Harry Kane’s late brace helped England avoid a potential disaster

Sports Desk:

England secured their place in the last 16 of the World Cup by defeating DR Congo 2-1 with a late brace from captain Harry Kane.

Coach Thomas Tuchel’s men, who were aiming to end their 60-year World Cup title drought, were not in the expected rhythm from the start of the match. Instead, Brian Sippenger’s goal put England under pressure after falling behind. After that goal, England faced one of the most embarrassing exits in World Cup history.

England failed to break DR Congo’s strong defense for most of the match. However, experienced captain Harry Kane emerged as the team’s savior once again. He scored two consecutive goals towards the end of the match to give England a dramatic 2-1 victory and secure their ticket to the last 16.
