Mexico’s dominant win in the opening match of the World Cup, defeating South Africa 2-0

Sports Desk:

Co-hosts Mexico made a great start in the opening match of the biggest tournament in the history of the Football World Cup. The hosts defeated South Africa 2-0 in the match held at the historic Azteca Stadium.

Mexico presented an aggressive football from the start of the match. Julian Quinones scored the first goal of the tournament for the team amidst the excitement of the audience. After that, Mexico continued to move forward with complete control of the match in their own hands.

In the second half, experienced striker Raul Jimenez scored another goal to secure the team’s victory. With this goal, Mexico earned a full three points in the opening match and made a strong position to advance from Group ‘A’ to the next stage.

On the other hand, South Africa could not put much pressure on Mexico throughout the entire match. Their misery increased when two of the team’s players, Spefehlo Sithole and Themba Zwane, were forced to leave the field after seeing red cards. As a result, the African team had to play with only nine players in the final part of the match.
