Bangladesh-Vietnam Business Forum and B2B Trade Connecting Event Held in Dhaka

With the aim of strengthening trade and investment cooperation between Bangladesh and Vietnam, the “Bangladesh-Vietnam Business Forum and B2B Trade Connecting Event 2026” was held in the capital Dhaka. The event was organized for the first time by the Foreign Market Development Department under the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Vietnam, the Vietnamese Embassy in Bangladesh, and the Vietnam Business Association in Bangladesh (VBS) on Tuesday (19 May 2026) at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka.

About 200 companies from Bangladesh participated in the event. On the other hand, a delegation of 25 companies from Vietnam participated. The delegates are working in various sectors including software production, pre-engineered steel building construction, mechanical and electrical engineering, fertilizer production, agricultural and forestry product processing, tourism and import-export trade. Vietnam-made machinery and electric motor manufacturers and Vietnam’s medical tourism services were also specially presented at this year’s forum.

The main theme of this year’s event was – “Using potential, strengthening trust, developing together.” The organizers said that through this theme, the mutual cooperation between the two countries, economic prospects and the positive role of the new government of Bangladesh after the national elections in February 2026 were highlighted.

The event was attended by the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, the State Minister for Administration, representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Affairs. In addition, representatives of various chemical industry organizations, the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and various professional organizations including the Bangladesh Potato Exporters Association participated.

In his opening remarks, Vietnamese Ambassador to Bangladesh Nguyen Manh Quang stressed the importance of deepening economic relations between the two countries. He said that there is great potential for cooperation in trade, investment and industry between Bangladesh and Vietnam.

At the same time, Ms. Le Thi Mai Ang, Head of the Southeast Asia-South Asia and Regional Cooperation Department and in charge of Bangladesh Market Supervision, said that the size, potential and complementary characteristics of the markets of Vietnam and Bangladesh are very compatible. She expressed her determination to move forward together for the purpose of integrated development, increased value addition and sustainable growth.

Several important agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed during the B2B networking session of the forum. These include a cooperation agreement between Hong Qi Company and Padma Communication to supply high-tech welding machines and mechanical equipment manufactured in Vietnam to Bangladesh, an agreement between Asia DMC Vietnam and Rupsha Air Services to provide medical and tourism services in Vietnam for Bangladeshi customers, and an agreement to establish a “Vietnam-Bangladesh House”.

The organizers expressed hope that this forum will open new horizons for cooperation in trade, investment and industrial sectors between Bangladesh and Vietnam.
