Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries and Livestock Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid said that all-out measures have been taken to harvest paddy in Haor region on time. All paddy should be harvested before water enters the Haor. Care should be taken to ensure that the paddy is not wasted in any way.
The minister said these things in the chairman’s speech at a meeting organized on Tuesday (April 21, 2026) at the meeting room of the Ministry of Agriculture on the progress of paddy harvesting in the country’s Haor region, including overall issues.
The minister said that the paddy harvesting in Haor region should be completed on time with utmost care and sincerity. In all the areas where paddy is suitable for harvesting earlier, if necessary, harvesters and paddy harvesting workers should be brought from neighboring areas to harvest the paddy. He instructed the concerned to involve local public representatives and volunteers in this regard.
In the meeting, the minister informed the officials of the Haor region’s field administration and agriculture department that there is a supply of fuel oil required for the harvester and said that there will be no problem of fuel oil for the agricultural sector.
