Bangladesh and Netherlands to work together for sustainable agricultural development

An important meeting was held to further strengthen agricultural cooperation between Bangladesh and the Netherlands. Last Sunday (April 19, 2026), Joris van Bommel, Ambassador of the Netherlands, and Mohammed Aminur Rashid, Honorable Minister, met at the Ministry.

In the meeting, both sides discussed in detail the progress of climate-resilient agricultural development, sustainable fisheries and livestock sectors. In addition, emphasis was placed on further expanding ongoing cooperation in seeds, horticulture, water management, aquaculture and dairy sectors.

In addition, new potential sectors such as export-oriented organic agriculture were discussed, which are expected to play a role in further strengthening the economic relations between the two countries in the future.

At the end of the meeting, both sides reiterated their commitment to deepen this long-standing partnership and work together to achieve sustainable and effective results.
