Bangladesh and Korea signed RoD and ToR for the project

Desk Report:

On Tuesday (07 April, 2026) the Government of Bangladesh and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT), Republic of Korea, signed the Record of Discussion (RoD) and Terms of Reference (ToR) for the project titled ‘Advanced Project of Rolling Stock Operation and Management in Bangladesh’.

This project will be implemented by Bangladesh Railway under the Ministry of Railways. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea will provide US$ 3.63 million (approximately BDT 45.12 crore) as a grant for the implementation of the project.

The main objective of the project is to enhance the safety and transportation capacity of Bangladesh Railway through the improvement of its infrastructure and operational capabilities.

Mirana Mahrukh, Additional Secretary and Wing Chief (Asia, JEC and F&F), Economic Relations Division (ERD), signed on behalf of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Seok-gi Kim, Assistant Minister for Infrastructure Affairs of MOLIT, signed on behalf of the Republic of Korea.
