Pakistan High Commissioner meets Industries Minister

Pakistan High Commissioner Imran Haider paid a courtesy call on Industries Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir at his office on Tuesday (April 7, 2026). During the meeting, they discussed various issues related to expanding bilateral trade and investment, increasing cooperation in the industrial sector and mutual interests.

The Industries Minister said that there is ample opportunity for joint initiatives in the industrial sector between the two countries to further accelerate the existing commercial relations between Bangladesh and Pakistan. He especially emphasized on increasing cooperation in the sugar, textile, pharmaceutical and leather sectors.

The Pakistani High Commissioner praised the progress of Bangladesh’s industrial sector and the investment-friendly environment and expressed his interest in encouraging Pakistani entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh. He emphasized on increasing communication and partnership between businessmen of the two countries.

They also expressed hope to work together to strengthen mutual cooperation in the industrial sector and expand trade.

Among others, Secretary of the Ministry of Industries Md. Obaidur Rahman and senior officials of the ministry and the High Commission were present at the event.
