The Ambassador of France to Bangladesh, Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, paid a courtesy call on the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shama Obaid Islam, on Monday (17 March 2026).
During the meeting, the Ambassador, representing a long-standing partner of Bangladesh, reaffirmed France’s strong commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations across all sectors. He emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
The discussion particularly focused on enhancing investment opportunities and reinforcing bilateral trade and commercial cooperation between the two countries. Both sides expressed optimism about expanding economic engagement and creating new avenues for collaboration.
In addition, the State Minister and the Ambassador explored potential cooperation in new sectors, especially in the cultural domain, highlighting the importance of people-to-people connections and cultural exchange.
They also exchanged views on the evolving situation in the Middle East and discussed various multilateral issues of shared concern, underscoring the need for continued dialogue and cooperation on global challenges.
