AB Party calls for joint campaign to implement July Charter and maintain law and order

Desk Report:

A delegation of AB Party met with Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman. The delegation, led by party chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister at the Sangsad Bhaban office on Wednesday (March 11, 2026) afternoon.

During the meeting, the AB Party Chairman congratulated the Prime Minister for assuming the responsibility of the country through national elections after the end of the term of the interim government after the August Revolution in the context of long-term political deprivation and dictatorship. At this time, he handed over two separate letters to the Prime Minister on behalf of the party and on behalf of the people of his constituency Feni.

At the meeting, the Prime Minister patiently listened to the speeches of the AB Party leaders and the discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere. He thanked the AB Party and emphasized positive and constructive politics in the interests of the country and the people. During this time, the leaders also reminisced about the turbulent times of July-August.

The AB Party delegation was also attended by the party’s Senior Vice Chairman Major (Retd.) Abdul Wahab Minar, General Secretary Barrister Asaduzzaman Fuad and Office Secretary Advocate Abdullah Al Mamun Rana.

Several important national recommendations were presented by the AB Party during the meeting. These include—

Taking an acceptable step based on compromise, avoiding the controversy and complications created by the implementation of the July Charter and the Constitutional Reform Council;

Organizing a public consultation meeting with representatives of all political parties and civil society to address the country’s economic challenges in the context of a possible US-Iran war situation;

Sending a message of the government’s strong stance by conducting joint operations at the appropriate time to prevent corruption, extortion, terrorism and social degradation to restore confidence in the law and order situation;

The pledge of the great liberation war – to rebuild the country on the basis of equality, human dignity and social justice, to bring justice to long-standing oppression and to implement the BNP’s election pledge to institutionalize democracy.

It was reported that the meeting held constructive discussions on the current political and economic situation of the country.
