Desk Report:
The report “Eight officials travel to the United States to learn how to operate AC” published recently in the Daily Kalbela is completely baseless, misleading and untrue.
The actual information is that the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) System will be supplied by Dunham-Bush, a USA-based company, under the “Establishment of Complete Cancer, Kidney and Heart Treatment Center in Eight Divisional City” construction project being implemented under the Public Works Department under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. For this purpose, the Public Works Department has already signed agreements with various organizations.
In that context, the letter sent by the relevant organization in the United States states:
“We are pleased to inform you that Dunham-Bush Industries Dunham-Bush USA, LLC, 1800 SE 38th Avenue, Homestead: Florida-33035, USA has organized a Technical Training Program focused on Safety Facilities, Operation and Maintenance Management of HVAC systems. This training is part of our ongoing commitment to support our valued partners through knowledge enhancement and capacity building.”
Eight officials were invited to participate in the above special training organized by Dunham-Bush, USA. The knowledge gained through the training will be helpful in field-level maintenance work later. The cost of the training will be borne by Dunham-Bush, USA, so there is no financial implication of the Bangladesh government or any contracted organization.
It is also noted that the knowledge gained through special training (such as Safety Facilities, Operation and Maintenance Management, etc.) on all the equipment/parts supplied by Dunham-Bush in the above training will benefit the Public Works Department through Knowledge Sharing with field level officers and will be helpful in the smooth operation of the supplied equipment.
The project period is scheduled until June 2026. The construction work for the construction of the hospital in question is in the final stage. The hospital will be completed if HVAC systems are provided. Overall, the people will get modern services when the project work is completed.
Publishing such reports is creating confusion in the public mind and tarnishing the image of the government. It is requested not to report such distorted information in the future.
