Switzerland expresses interest in investing in Bangladesh’s logistics and railway sectors

Diplomatic Desk:

Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Reto Rengli held a cordial meeting with the Minister in Charge of the Ministry of Shipping, Railways and Road Transport and Bridges on Monday (March 9, 2026).

The meeting discussed strengthening economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Switzerland and potential partnerships in infrastructure development.

Ambassador Reto Rengli said that the Swiss private sector is well-known worldwide for its strong presence, high standards, innovation and technological excellence. Based on this capability, Swiss companies can become partners in Bangladesh’s important economic sectors—especially in the logistics and railway sectors—for mutual benefit.

He also noted that Switzerland’s experience in infrastructure development and modernization of the transport system can make a positive contribution to the sustainable development of Bangladesh.
