Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurates training workshop for BNP MPs

Ahead of the first session of the 13th National Parliament, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has started a training workshop for party MPs.

BNP Chairman, Parliament Leader and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman inaugurated the workshop at the BNP Chairman’s political office in Gulshan in the capital at 10:30 am on Friday (March 6, 2026).

Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atiqur Rahman Rumon said that BNP Chairman, Parliament Leader and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is participating in a training workshop with party MPs.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, National Standing Committee members Abdul Moin Khan, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed and Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain and senior leaders were present at the inaugural session of the workshop, which was closed to MPs. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman delivered a welcome speech at the event.

The BNP Chairman’s daughter, Barrister Jaima Rahman, is also present at the workshop.

In this training workshop, the necessary rules and regulations on various issues including the procedure of the parliament, code of conduct, bill formulation and review, analysis of budget-related documents and the activities of parliamentary committees will be presented to the newly elected members of parliament. In addition, experienced members of parliament will share their experiences with the new members.

The main objective of this workshop is to make the parliamentary activities of the government and the ruling party more efficient and effective.

The first session of the 13th National Parliament will be held on March 12 at 11 am. President Md. Shahabuddin called this session on February 23.

Ministers, state ministers, advisors, chief whips and whips participated in the morning session of the first day of this two-day workshop. Members of parliament from Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna and Barisal divisions will participate in the afternoon session.

Members of Dhaka Partial, Mymensingh and Faridpur divisions will participate in the workshop on Saturday morning and members of Sylhet, Comilla and Chittagong divisions will participate in the workshop in the afternoon.

It is worth noting that 209 BNP members of parliament were elected in the 13th National Parliament election. Of them, 146 are coming to parliament for the first time. As a result, this training workshop has been organized to give new members an idea of ​​parliamentary rules and procedures.
