BSMRAU held a seminar on impact of man-made earthquakes on environment and future actions

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) held a seminar on Environmental Impact of Man-Made Earthquakes and Opportunities and Activities for Forestry Graduates. The seminar was held on Thursday (November 7, 2024) at 11 am in the old auditorium of the university organized by the Faculty of Forestry and Environment.

BSMRAU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. was present as the chief guest in this important seminar. G.K.M. Mostafizur Rahman. The main speaker of the seminar was Professor and Head of Health Informatics Technology Department of Sylhet North East Medical College and Hospital. Md. Rahimullah Mia. Dean of the Faculty of Forestry and Environment presided over the ceremony. Md Main Uddin Mia. The teachers and students of the Faculty of Forestry and Environment were present in this seminar.

In the discussion, the Vice-Chancellor said in the chief guest’s speech that Bangladesh is an earthquake-prone region according to its geological and land structure. However, man-made earthquakes are caused by the lack of awareness of people. This researcher and scientist believes that this seminar will be useful and effective if the students have a correct understanding of how and why man-made earthquakes occur from the discussion of this seminar and later apply it in real life and participate in public awareness activities.
