Nepal’s Foreign Minister arrives in Dhaka to attend Khaleda Zia’s state funeral

Nepal’s Foreign Minister Hon. Mr. Bala Nanda Sharma has arrived in Dhaka to attend the state funeral of former Prime Minister of Bangladesh and BNP Chairperson late Begum Khaleda Zia.

On Tuesday (December 30, 2025), he was welcomed by Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari and Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Mr. M. Farhadul Islam.

The visit of the Nepalese Foreign Minister is to pay deep respect to the late Begum Khaleda Zia on behalf of the government and people of Nepal and to express condolences to the people of Bangladesh. Diplomatic circles consider his presence on the occasion of the state funeral to be a reflection of the friendly and cordial trend of Bangladesh-Nepal bilateral relations.
