Industry Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan said, the new generation of youth now want to become entrepreneurs instead of chasing jobs. The biggest challenge for small entrepreneurs is getting loans. Bangladesh Bank will come forward to provide policies, funds and advice to help small entrepreneurs get loans easily.

He also said that industrial plots are lying vacant in many places of BSCIC. There are problems with gas and electricity connections in industrial plots. An online-based one-stop service should be launched quickly by eliminating bureaucratic complications. Those who are not entrepreneurs were previously given plots based on political considerations. Their plots will be canceled. In post-July Revolution Bangladesh, we want to see a BSCIC that is completely transparent, accountable and entrepreneur-friendly.

The Industry Advisor said this at the annual conference of Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) and the workshop ’69 Years of BSCIC: Achievements, Problems and Prospects’ at the BSCIC Conference Room in Tejgaon, Dhaka on Wednesday (December 3, 2025). The program was presided over by BSCIC Chairman Md. Saiful Islam, and was attended by Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur and Routine Charge Secretary of the Ministry of Industries Md. Nuruzzaman ndc.

Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur said, the amount of loans given to entrepreneurs is very small. We have Tk 25,000 crore in our hands. There is also a weakness in loan disbursement. We want to increase the amount of loans. In this regard, institutions like BSCIC should come forward. Online platforms should be popularized by connecting entrepreneurs and buyers. Bangladesh Bank is working to connect entrepreneurs with international payment systems.

After the discussion, Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan and Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur visited the stalls of the BSCIC Bijoy Mela held on the ground floor of the BSCIC building and spoke to the entrepreneurs. At the beginning, BSCIC Chairman Md. Saiful Islam highlighted the activities of BSCIC. The packaging of the BSCIC Annual Conference 2025 souvenir was unveiled at this conference.

Additional Secretary Rashidul Hasan, Director General of Bangladesh Ship Recycling Board ASM Shafiul Alam Talukder, representatives of the Planning Commission and Finance Department, and officials of various levels of BSCIC were also present at the event.
