Massive fire in Hong Kong multi-storey building

At least 44 people have died in a major fire that broke out in several high-rise apartment buildings in a residential complex in Hong Kong. Another 45 people are in critical condition in the incident. In addition, 279 people are missing and many of the injured are in hospital.

The fire broke out at the residential complex called Wang Fook Court in the Ta Po area in the northern part of the city at 2:51 pm local time on Wednesday (November 26).

It is feared that many people are still trapped inside the buildings. In that case, the fire authorities fear that the death toll may rise further.
