3-day ‘Bay of Bengal Conversation’ conference begins in Dhaka

The three-day ‘Bay of Bengal Conversation 2025’, organized by the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS), began in Dhaka on Saturday (November 22, 2025). This international conference, which began at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital, is being held for the fourth time.

The inaugural ceremony was attended by Advisor to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Md. Towhid Hossain, Honorable Chief Justice of Bangladesh Syed Rafat Ahmed, President of CGS and Chair of Bay of Bengal Conversation Bangladesh Zillur Rahman, and Executive Director of CGS Parvez Karim Abbasi.

200 negotiators, 300 delegates, and more than 1,000 participants from 85 countries are participating in this conference. Various sessions and discussions have been organized around the three-day event on various regional and global issues—especially geopolitics, regional security, trade, climate change, and good governance. The conference, which has become one of the most important platforms for regional cooperation and diplomatic dialogue centered on the Bay of Bengal, has created important opportunities for exchange of views and policy dialogue for the participants.
