French Ambassador Pays Courtesy Call on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer

The French Ambassador to Dhaka, His Excellency Mr. Jean-Marc Serre-Charle, paid a courtesy call on the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman. The meeting, held at 3 pm on Wednesday (November 19, 2025) at the Bashundhara office of the Ameer-e-Jamaat, was held in a cordial and cordial atmosphere. The ambassador was accompanied by Christian Beck, Political Counselor of the French Embassy.

From Jamaat-e-Islami, the party’s Secretary General and former Member of Parliament Mia Golam Parwar, Central Executive Council Member Mubarak Hossain and Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan participated in the meeting.

The meeting discussed the ongoing political situation in Bangladesh, the upcoming national elections, the stability of democratic and constitutional institutions, the human rights situation, Bangladesh-France bilateral relations and commercial and economic cooperation.

The Ameer of Jamaat praised Bangladesh’s long-standing diplomatic relations with France and called for this cooperation to continue in the future for the sake of the country’s overall development and stability.
